AWANA arises together with the dream of positioning Argentina as a world-wide provider of textiles made from camel fibers. We prefer working without leaving aside design but maintaining the method which has been ancestrally used in our lands back since the American civilization beginning.The Incas, who were one of the first settlers that dared conquer our country territory, were precursors in using the four South American camels species fibers. They used llamas, guanacos, vicunas and alpacas to make their clothes with looms, both for warming needs, as well as for decoration. Loyal to their respect for nature and resources beliefs, they managed to knit beautiful cloths, which we still take as a reference when having to choose an article of clothing.And it is precisely AWANA, a quechua word, language used by the Incas, that means loom, what inspired us to give way to this project that is now taking us to present our products to you, which are 100% made of llamas soft fiber.
