My Father George Fickling started in the opal industry over 25 years ago. Born in Longreach- central Queensland Australia, George left school at the age of 13 to accompany his father, who was a drover. It was on one of these long trips in the harsh outback that Gearge was captured by the beauty of the opal. While on horse back he would study the areas in which opals where found lying on the ground and in mounds of rock. With every sighting the beauty and brilliance of the opal struck Georges imagination but it was not until years later that George able to follow his dream as aprospector. Know accompanied by my brother and myself, we are proud to present some of the finest opals in Australia to the world. My brother does the minning and I do the prossesing.
