The Cameroon Development Corporation is an Agro-Industrial Complex that grows, processes and markets tropical export crops. It operates in Cameroon in the Central African sub-region.
It is a parastatal company and it's operations management is directed by a General Manager and governed by a Board of Directors also headed by a Chairman.
Currently, its plantations cover a total of approximately 41,000 Hectares of land, 38,000 Hectares of which is mature and of production stage. The corporation constitutes a workforce of over 15,700 employees, including temporal workers, making it the second highest employer after the state of Cameroon.
The major products of Cameroon Development Corporation are rubber, oil palm, banana and secondary crops. From the plantations these crops are sent to the factories where they are processed and made ready for commercial use. Thus the operations of Cameroon Development Corporation comprise production, processing and marketing of rubber, palm oil and banana.
Rubber ,palm oil and banana are exported by the company . The factories of Cameroon Development Corporation include rubber factories, banana processing and oil mills. The major segments of the company are provided with various services like human resource, technical, medical, supplies department, marketing and sales etc.
Though the company faced financial backlogs in its course of operation, CDC has been able to retain its position in the commercial and production sector through self financing, loan schemes and government aid.
