Jiangsu Alfa Bus Co., Ltd (Alfa Bus) is designated a middle and large luxury bus manufacturer in China, also the earliest bus manufacturer to research and experiment on electric bus. Alfa Bus is the whole vehicle key manufacturer in China and owns the production qualification of chassis for new energy bus and has been listed in the country promotion list. In 2009, Alfa Bus has been authorized as the manufacture base of the luxurious BRT bus and large-sized pure electric bus by Jiangsu provincial government, as well as High-Tech Enterprise and Innovation-Oriented Enterprise. Its BRT bus project and new energy coach project has been pointed as China 863 Torch Project and National New Products Project.Alfa Bus has registered capital of 500 million RMB (80million USD) with 430,000 square meter coverage area. It has more than 500 employees among which 100 are professional engineers.The main products include normal and luxury coaches, tourist buses and city buses. Production range covers from 6m to 18m bus. The present annual capacity is 3,000 units. By 2013 Alfa Bus will build up a new international standard electric bus factory, the annual output would reach more than 10,000 units.Since 2007, there have been more than 200 Alfa pure electric buses run well in Shanghai, Jinan, Shenzhen, Qingdao, Wuxi, Chengdu, Haikou, Zibo and other cities for totally more than 3 million kilometers. By the time more than 600 high level BRT buses are working efficiently in public traffic line in cities like Changzhou, Wuhan. Therefore this BRT project won Chinese Zhantianyou Civil Engineering Award and was selected as one of 100 Excellent Civil Engineering Hundred Years Project. Alfa Bus is the first one which exported pure electric bus to oversea market such as Taiwan and Brazil in 2011. In 2012 Alfa pure electric bus had achieved EU E4 certification. The first batch had been exported to Italy and now is under demonstration operation there. Alfa Bus is the first pure electric bus manufacturer who passed the EU E4 homologation andexported the first pure electric bus to European market.
