It's bad for the economy and a burden for the environment since the bottles do not decompose for 200-300 years. But this garbage can be transformed into valuable materials - and it's good business!
A PET bottle recycling plant takes dirty bottles and transforms them into clean PET flakes. This is an export commodity which can be sold and used for many creative applications. And the flakes can be further processed and reutilized with high commercial value.
