Our History:
Hong Da International Trading Ltd. was registered in Hong Kong by Mr. S. Y. Lam. Our prime activity is to export only high quality Chinese dry beans to overseas importers, distributors, pre-packers and supermarkets.
Hong Da, originated from Great China Grains Limited, was a trading company specializing in grains & beans. We are a joint-venture corporation invested in by Mr. S. Y. Lam and Dalian International Development Co., Ltd. (which is wholly owned by Dalian city government). S. Y. Lam was one of the pioneers of exporting Chinese dry beans in bulk quantities to South Africa in 1991, and also was one of the first batches of suppliers of Chinese Broad Beans in bulk quantities to Egypt in 1991. Great China Grains Limited had been once the largest Chinese dry bean supplier for South African market, with an annual sales volume of over 30,000 metric tons. In 1999, as a result of top leadership changes within the Dalian government, Dalian International Development Co., Ltd. withdrew shares due to group re-construction. The lack of proper investments and financing forced Great China Grains Limited to cease the operations.
In 2000, Mr. S. Y. Lam formed Hong Da International. Mr. Lam and then re-structured our investment. We specialize in Chinese dry bean export business. As a private trading company, developing a trade solely on Chinese dry beans has proved quite a successful strategy. We work directly with reputable farmers, establishing a good relationship with them through fair Purchase-Back future contract and reasonable remuneration.
Our Service:
In order to make sure that our high quality standard are met, we provide high quality seeds for farmers and sign future purchasing contract with these farmers, help farmers make initial bean cleaning/processing and make second cleaning before loading. We also offer warehousing, re-bagging, container booking and shipment arrangement services. During the season of 02/03, we shipped about 9,300 metric tons of Chinese beans to South Africa, West Europe, Yemen, India, the Philippines, the UAE, Lebanon, Croatia, etc.
