Shandong Hilead Biotechnology Co., Ltd, as a biological hi-new-tech enterprise, takes light gas oil & byproduct of oil as raw material and is engaged in the research, development, production and sales of long carbon chain dicarboxylic acid products and the derivatives via microbial fermentation. Chen Yuantong, the Professor of CSA and inventor of Microbial Fermentation of long chain dicarboxylic acid, is employed as the chief scientist. Our company has technology talents in bioengineering, fine chemical, high molecular material, international trade and finance management industries.

Institute of Microbiology Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shandong Hilead Biotechnology Co., Ltd have signed up to the Agreement on Joint Building of Laiyang Biological Industrial Base ( Laiyang Biological Science and Technology Park) of Institute of Microbiology Chinese Academy of Science for comprehensive cooperation of long carbon chain dicarboxylic acid and the Agreement on Joint R&D Center of Institute of Microbiology Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shandong Hilead Biotechnology Co., Ltd for comprehensive cooperation of the industrialization of biological technology. This will be the largest production base of long carbon chain dicarboxylic acid via microbial fermentation in China.

This project is listed in major construction projects of Shandong Province by provincial Party committees and provincial government. The development of this project has gain high attention of NDPC and Ministry of Science and Technology and other relevant ministries and the care of major leaders of all levels of Laiyang City. In June 2009, this project was approved by NDRC and was listed by NDRC as the major program of biological high-new tech enterprise with allocating special funds as support. In July 2009, this program is chosen by Shandong Science and Technology Authority as the major special program of indigenous innovation transformation.

Shandong Hilead Biotechnology Co., Ltd is capable of producing long carbon chain dicarboxylic acid of various specifications so as to meet the special needs of different industries and areas. DC11~DC18 long carbon chain dicarboxylic acid and the derivatives, as the leading products, are important intermediate raw materials of chemical production and major raw materials for synthetic musk-T, copolyamide, melt adhesive and high-end engineering plastic and are widely used in chemicals, light industry, pesticides, pharmaceuticals and liquid crystal materials.

While using microbial fermentation of long chain dicarboxylic acid, Shandong Hilead Biotechnology Co., Ltd has active cooperation with Zhengzhou School of Materials Science and Engineering for the research, development and production of downstream products, focusing on the development of long carbon chain nylon 1212 and the industrialized production of semi-aromatic nylon.
