Dana Farms, founded in 1986, is one of the pioneer farms re-cultivating the Nuberaya Dessert in Egypt. It has been founded by Salah El-Din Gad, and managed to built and improve it continuously for 20+ years. Today, the farm is run by Reham Salah El-Din. Reham, is a computer science engineer and is a MBA holder. She holds a sound record in her field of information systems and organization development and is now running the farm utilizing her strong background in operations management and people leadership.
Dana Farms is a farm of size 330 feddan or 139 hectares, planting 5 fruit crops: peaches, citrus, mangoes, grapes, and apricots supplied by a robust dripping irrigation system. The farm has been able to become certified by Global Gap (Euregap) since 5 years to allow entry in foreign market. We export peaches, citrus, and grapes. For the mangoes, we prefer to serve the local market, yet we can consider a change in case of an appealing opportunity. Lately during 2010, we started looking forward to introduce planting specific vegetables alongside the fruit trees.
