Kajah Activated Carbon is a leading producer and exporter of high quality coconut shell based activated carbon for a range of industrial applications world over. The company is located strategically in the coconut heartland of India, which ensures ready access to good quality raw materials. As a result, the company is able to deliver high performance activated carbon consistently, round the year. Quality is ensured through systems and processes, beginning from the procurement of raw material to shipping the finished product.

Manufacturing-
The manufacturing facility of Kajah Activated Carbon is situated in the coconut heartland, near Madurai in Tamil Nadu, South India. The location is adjacent to the airport, and the Tuticorin seaport is just 200 kms away. The close proximity to the major coconut growing regions assures easy access to raw materials. The plant has an installed capacity of
2000 MT per annum, and produces various grades of coconut-based activated carbon. Steam activation process employing rotary kiln is used to convert coconut shell charcoal into activated carbon. The kiln has a length of 60 ft and attains a temperature of 800 - 1100 degree C. Activated Carbon taken out of the Kiln is further processed for Destoning and Dedusting. Stoneless Activated Carbon is then passed through Gyro Screener for particle size separation. Separated particles are moved to packing centre and are packed according to Customer Specifications.

Quality Control-
A well-equipped laboratory ensures quality by employing the ASTM method to test samples at every stage of production. The final product is sampled and tested for a range of parameters such as particle size, apparent density, moisture, CTC adsorption activity, ash content, hardness and more.

Packing-
Kajah Activated Carbon is packed as per industry standards in sizes of 25 kg & 50 kg (HDPE/Paper bags) and 500/550 kg (HDPE jumbo Bags).

25 kg bags: Palletized on wooden pallets (20 bags per pallet of total weight 500 kg) with shrink wrapping.

Jumbo bags: Two bags fastened to a single pallet with four straps. Strong, fumigated 4-way double deck block pallets are used. Marking and labeling done as per customer requirements.
