Dishman Pharmaceuticals and Chemicals Ltd. was incorpated in 1983 as a research-oriented organisation.
In 1995, Dishman formed a joint venture company with schutz & Co, Germany called as "Schutz Dishman Biotech Private Limited". It manufactures chlorhexidine Base, Chlorhexidine HCL, Chlorhexidine Acetate and Chlorhexidine Gluconate solution, for the European markrt.
In 1995-96, Dishman extended its activities for the development of many intermediates and APIs
In 1997 company has start outsourcing on the basis of its strong potential in house R& D and multiple technologies developed. Company also gate contract research and contract manufacturing form other organisation.
Since its inception, Dishman`s strongest markets were Europe and USA In order to become a global player it was clearly necessary to have a knowledgeable local presence in these markrts, to facilitate better communication with customers, understanding of their needs, better supply-chain efficiency and adding value to the whole process. With these aims in mind, two wholly owned subsidiaries were started in Europe and the US-Dishman Europe Limited and Dishman USA Inc. In 1998.
In 2002 at Chemspec in Amsterdam, Dishman Europe Ltd. started negotiations to acquire the quaternary phosphonium salts business of Chemconserve BV of Rijswijk, Netherlands. This deal was completed on 9th April 2003 and was launched at Chemspec Manchester under the new name of Dishman Holland BV (DHBV) .
