I.A.MI. is a family business in Castronovo di Sicilia, south east of Palermo, owned by the Milazzo family. The family has been present in the area for centuries.Our primary activity is olive tree cultivation of secular plantation but mainly of Mazara local varieties of Nocellara del Belice.We have only recently decided to commercialize our products without any middle men.Our plantations are situated on the east hills of the river Platani basin in Castronovo di Sicilia within the surrounding area of Caltanissetta.For centuries the business has been owned by the Milazzo family who are the head of the company.The land is situated within the DOP area ofVal di Mazara and of Monti Sicani.It has been an Organic Farming Business since 1996 as regard to both soil and oil mill.Regarding the DOP area ofVal di Mazara we can issue both certifications of product and manufacturing . Our primary activity is olive tree cultivation of secular plantation but mainly of Mazara local varieties of Nocellara del Belice. We have decided, only recently, to commercialize our products without any middle men.The olive groves are made up of secular plants of Mazara type varieties of Nocellara del Belice.The olive groves comprise of a modern oil-establishment terminated about 20 years ago mainly varieties of Nocellara del Belice and Giraffa .That contitute the majority of cultivated plants.For the olive oil extraction we will use an innovative system provide by ALFA LAVAL S.P.A..Thanks to the most modern technical evolution the use of this system will give us the opportunity to obtain a quality olive oil that will satisfy our customers especially those who demand a qualitative perfection.The whole manufacturing process will be checked by an advanced automation technology that will list each single step of the process.On demand it will be possible to obtain a certificate of the olive trasformation process in order to trace each single part, as per REG: CE 178/2002. We can also issue a certificate stating that cold pressed technique was used. During the manufacturing process drinking water from the council's water service is used and for further security we may also make water purified usingan innovative service provide byAcqua Piu . On demand it will be possible to use a specific method of olive cleaning that will purify the oil making it softer and of a better quality.It will be possible, by request, to start the processing ofolives after the pit has been removed manufacturing the so called Precious Oil.In addition to the extra virgin olive oil the company commercializes other unique products from the old Sicilian tradition: different tomato sauces,pesto,pate,creams,vegetables to enrich meat dishes, vegetables in olive oil,tomatoes.chees,handmade pasta,industrial pasta,jams.Honey,wine,traditional sweets,deep frozen snacks and cakes.All our products are prepared exclusively with fresh, raw materials from Sicily, following old, traditional recipes.
