All historians claim that since ancient time, thru the Pre-Roman period, in the time when Alexander the Great was absolute ruler of the world, in the region of Macedonia there was a valley, full with beautiful vineyards, which were producing most qualitative grape and wine. This is confirmed from numerous excavations at the archeological site Isar-Marvinci where, in ancient time, was the seat of power of the southern Macedonian area called Amphacsitida. It is known that here is the tomb of King Philip III Arrhidaeus, half-brother of Alexander the Great, who succeed his throne.In modern times, that valley is the location of the present city of Valandovo in the Republic of Macedonia, but also there is the head seat of the winery "Vizba Valandovo". This winery was built in 1948, and it is one of the oldest wine vaults in Macedonia. The capacity was enlarging constantly thru the years with overhead inox cisterns, to the present value of 12.5 million liters. There is a special vault also, with barrels made from American oak. We have a land property of 2.500 acres of vine plantations, wine vault, cold storage and finally an exclusive pomegranate plantation. The city of Valandovo lies on a crossroad, which leads to Greece on south, Bulgaria on east and Turkey on south-east. Thessalonica seaport is only 80 km away. Because of all that, the ecological garden of Macedonia and especially the Valandovo valley have Mediterranean climate, with very mild winters. The average annual sunny days are 268 days.Because of above facts, our Macedonian wines are listed in CIIIb wine growing zone, where are also listed the finest wines of France, Corsica, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece.
