Chris& carol parker own and operate 20 hectares of vineyards and winery on mt. Cass road which were one of original plantings in the waipara valley of new zealand. These were planted in 1982.
The main wine brands of the alpine pacific wine company are the hanmer junction, which associates the company to the tourist resort of hanmer springs and mount cass to emphasize the importance of mt. Cass the predominant peak in the teviotdale hills that overlooks the waipara valley. The mt. Cass image has appeared in many promotions of the waipara valley.
The variety of wines produced include:
Sauvignon blanc, riesling(off-dry and medium styles), chardonnay(unoaked and oaked), pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet merlot and a late harvest botrytised blend of chardonnay and riesling.
All wines are handcrafted on the vineyard to produce the styles that clients look for. It is the intention to express the vineyard's characters with little intervention in the wine making process.
