National engineering & technical company (netco) is nigeria's 1st national engineering company and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the nigerian national petroleum corporation (nnpc).
Netco was established in december 1988 as a joint venture between nigerian national petroleum corporation (nnpc) and American bechtel, INC? A world-renowned engineering company. In the joint-venture, nnpc owned 60% shareholding while bechtel owned 40% of netco. The main objective of establishing netco was to fulfill nnpc's strategic vision of developing in- country oil & gas engineering capability.
Netco intends to provide an efficient and reliable engineering base for the nnpc group and the entire oil and gas industry. Its services however, extend to the rest of the economy.
