Dear Sirs,
Brandymel liqueur is a timeless and traditional mixture of honey and arbutus spirit flavoured with mountain herbs created in the 1950s. More than 50 years ago this blended spirit was adapted for industrial production under the brand name Brandymel while still maintaining the original characteristics that inspired its creation.
The careful blending of all the highly selected ingredients is followed by a maturation process of at least six months in oak casks already used to age port wine. It is then filtered and bottled in the traditional heat-engraved Brandymel bottle. This liqueur is rich in flavour and body and can be served plain, with ice and lemon or in cocktails.
Although new filtering and bottling methods have been introduced, the honey and the medronho brandy are still carefully selected to guarantee a top-quality liqueur. The original preparation and aging processes have been scrupulously followed ever since it was first bottled.
For 50 years now, Brandymel liqueur has been produced by a family-owned firm devoted to the high quality of its products.
Brandymel has won several international prizes such as gold medals in 2005 and 2008 and a silver medal in 2006 in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. In 2007 the liqueur was awarded a gold medal in Austria top spirits competition World Spirits award Competition in Klagenfurt. In 2008 Brandymel won another gold medal this time in the London International Wine and Spirits Competition.
Tasting notes from the IWSC judges: Reflective burnished golden colour. Intensive honey aromas, also meadowsweet, musk, linden flower, camomile and sweet wild herbs. Luscious and viscous in the mouth, the spirit lifts the mouth-coating texture giving an underlying firmness and touch of heat without burn. Lovely balance and superb aftertaste.
Brandymel has exported to the US, Australia and some European countries. Our goal now is to find distributing partners, with key supply chain competencies in each country to place the product in local markets. We are currently expanding our portfolio to other liqueurs (for the time being bitter almond) and according to our partners needs we may develop customized products. Brandymel as well as bitter almond liqueur samples are available upon request. We are looking for expressions of interest in becoming our partner on a location by location basis. Nevertheless we are keeping an open mind towards any other partnership models that might arise.
Kind regards,
Mr. Rodrigo Cristina
