CAPA began operations in 1986 in Vila Nova de Gaia, by selling construction equipment.
With the purchase of facilities in Valongo in 1994, the company began to diversify the range of products offered to the market, starting to manufacture covers and gratings for drainage and sanitation featuring facilities with approximately 10,000 m2 of covered area, where develops most of its activity: administrative, industrial, technical, commercial and warehouses.
Later in 1999, it launched into another area of activity, the prefabricated construction.
The first decade of the XXI century represents the first foreign investments made by the company. First in Mozambique's capital, Maputo, with the construction of a modern plant during the year 2001, and later with an even bigger investment made in Angola's capital, Luanda, during the year 2006.
The company's performance has been achieved at a fast pace with an average growth in the order of 17%/year during the last decade which have been accompanied by the complete overhaul of all manufactured products range and its global sales reflect a ratio of 80% of fully designed, manufactured and marketed products by the company and 20% for the marketing of other products.
CAPA currently employs 110 people in its staff and is expected to increase over the next two years, due to the company intervention in other markets, including Angola, Mozambique, Spain, among others.
Recently, and as a result of its constant focus on new areas of technology, CAPA entered into the area of renewable energies offering several solutions such as photovoltaic systems for microgeneration.
