Production technology of castings by procedure of fusible models represents the oldest way of castings produktion. In China and Egypt have been discovered ornaments old over 4500 years for which production was used bee wax, and for production of mouldings the loam.
The foundry of investment castings was established in 1966 year as the second foundry for production of castings by procedure of investment castings in Yugoslavia. By technology of investment castings are manufactured castings with the highest technical characteristics with special stress on the quality of casting surface and realization of dimensional exactness. The weights of castings are from 0, 3 gr-1500 gr. The castings are produced from iron materials and brass.
Advantages of this production process are:
- possibility of manufacturing large series of castings of complexed configuration which is hardly or unpossible to reach by casting on classic way or treatment.
- ceramics material and manufacturing technique are allowing reproductiveness of fine details, large dimensional exactness and surface quality.
- castings manufactured by this procedure requires a little or none mechanical treatment which enables selection of uncomplicated, and therefore cheappier machines for final treatment.
- by this procedure can be reached strict requirements as: size of granules, orientation of granules, direct soliditication, which enables to reach high machanical characteristics of castings.
