The present company was created in 1998 to conform with current legislation, but the Knight family has been involved in insurance, mainly for expatriates living in Spain.


I came to Spain for the first time at the end of 1982 on holiday from boarding school in the U. K. My father had emigrated to Spain and we lived close to Barcelona. After an unsuccessful academic career my first tentative steps in the business world were in catering and real estate as an employee. By the time I was twenty-one I had set up my own business as a property administrator, 'gestoria', interpreter and insurance agent all rolled into one. For several years this business provided great experience but little in the way of earnings, until one of my clients with a small Royal Insurance agency in Barcelona, who wanted to leave Spain, talked me into buying his business.
