Ekarat engineering public company limited was established in 1981 with registered capital of only us $160, 000. Growing from a small factory on one rai of rented land and 22 employees. Today, ekarat takes up 15 rai (6 acres) and employs more than 600 people.
Ekarat was the first company in thailand's transformer industry to receive a "tis 384-2524" certificate from the thai industrial standards institute (tisi) , ministry of industry. This certificate gave customers confidence that they were purchasing a quality product and it made ekarat eligible to participate in government tendered contracts.
In tandem with the rapid growth of the thai economy and electricity demand in thailand, ekarat expanded its production capacity and incorporated production technologies from germany, usa and japan
