I would like to introduce myself. My name is Berna Terziahmetoglu. In fact, i am geological enginner, i worked for 7 years as a foreign trade specialist, but i decided to continue with art following my childhood dreamI attended workshops at Kurshuni Glass art studio from Lokman Kursunlu, after that I graduated from Beykoz Glass Furnace in Istanbul. I studied with the most talented glass artists Michaela Moller and Julie Anne Denton. After all the educations completed, i set up my studio in 2006 and start to produce accesories (necklaces, bracelets, rings, earings, brouches) and tea and coffee spoons, decorative objects by melting italian glass rods at 1200 degree celcius flame. Every part is completely handmade. The skill is called Lampworking and Flameworking. . My jewelleries are displayed and sold at 3 luxury boutiques in Istanbul, besides this, i am making designs upon special orders, and i am giving workshops to the students. My handmade glass spoons and necklaces have been published as news in the most popular magazine of which the name is Home Art. I am also in contact with some handmade gifts importer nowadays. My aim is to create a new brand by reflecting the Turkish glass art to the accesories. I generally use Turkish motifs and forms (tulips, whirling dervishes, cintemani, vs. ) in my products I comine my works with silver, gold plated silver, swarowski crystals, leather, some ottoman textile products.
