Custom Designed Cables Ltd was established just over 20 years ago to Provide Custom Cable Solutions for Distributors, Stockists, OEMs and End Users. Based in the North West, which has a rich history of cable manufacture dating back for many years. All of CDC Ltds products are made to order, so a cable can be tailored to your specific requirements, conductors and insulations can be mixed in combinations. Screens and armours can be arranged exactly as you need them and wall thicknesses of both insulation and jacket materials can be adjusted to suit your requirements.

In cable manufacture, Cable Extrusion, Cable Jackets and Cable Insulation falls into 3 basic categories, insulating the Conductors, a Bedding Layer and a final outer sheath. Each performing a different but vital task from electrical breakdown, mechanical barrier and finally environmental protection using an endless variety of Materials. The complexity of these materials and therefore the variations of the Cable extrusion, Cable Jacket and Cable Insulation processes are defined by the operational performance requirements of the cable and as always balanced against cost.

The Purpose of Screened Cables and Cable Braiding is to minimise the effects of electromagnetic interference from both internally or externally generated sources thus allowing the cable to operate effectively. Custom Designed Cables offer a wide range of Cable Screening and Cable Braiding options. Our extensive capabilities range from very fine single Cable Braiding to heavy duty multiple cable braiding. Our materials range from Copper and Tinned Copper Braids/Sleeves right through to Kevlar Braids. Office equipment and ancillary components are now covered by EMC Legislation with respect to this subject. The simplest way is to use twisted pairs where field cancellation between successive twists of the pairs considerably reduces the internally generated pick-up or transmission.
