1936
Dester, a trading house for commodity items directed to hotels&restaurants, is founded.

1949
The company that is now duni is founded(billingsforsl nged AB in dalsland, sweden).

1953
First white napkin of soft tissue paper.

1954
The first colored napkins are introduced.

1958
Operations are established in germany.

1963
Production of paper plates begins in halmstad, sweden.
Sales operations are established in denmark.

1965
Dunicel, a unique patented material used primarily for tablecovering, goes into production.

1966
Plastic production begins in halmstad.

1967
Operations are established in great britain

1972
Operations are established in norway

1973
Dester begins manufacturing plastic products for airline food service.

1977
Production begins in the USA.

1982
Dunilin, a unique airlaid material used primarily for napkins, goes into production.

1984
Duni acquires its first candle factory(indelsbo, sweden).

1985
Dunisilk, a wipeable tablecover material, goes into production.

1986
De ster sales operation open in USA.

1990
Duni bil becomes duni and makes a strategically important acquisition, purchasing the finess group from stora, the pulp and paper conglomerate.
De ster starts manufacturing in USA.

1993
Operations are established in poland.
Ing group acquires de ster.

1996
Artstyle - an exclusive product line for specialty shops - is introduced.
A new factory is opened in the USA.
Dester acquires ds plastics of holland.

1997
Tidnings AB marieberg sells 50% of duni AB to scandinavian equity partners ltd(oneof the eqt funds).
De ster signs a joint venture agreement with thai disposables.

1998
Duni concentrates its operations, selling off our hygiene operations and the packaging company jd stenqvist.
Duni acquires the finnish candle manufacturer havi.
De ster acquires acs g nter in germany.
New duni identity is launched.

1999
Duni acquires dester. Acs, the world leader in tableware and food service products for travelers.
Dester. Acs is formed through the merger of dester, g nter. Acs, and duni inflight.

2001
Qt acquires remaining 50% of the shares in duni AB from the bonnier group. Duni is thereby 100% owned by eqt.

2002
Duni sells its tissue mill in kisa, sweden
De ster signs joint venture agreement with hainan airlines.

2003
Duni new corporate identity is launched.
Duni sells ds plastics in holland.
