Collagen USA, Inc. Was incorporated on January 5, 2006 as an Illinois corporation headquartered in Hillside, Illinois. In the beginning, the company tried Multi Level Marketing to sell the product, which is the model that was successful in Europe. One of the keys to the MLM model is communicating to the end user in a suggestive yet simple and effective way the requirements that Genuine Collagen needs in order to be effective. The product works but only if it is used properly and systematically.
In December 2006, it was decided that the best way to market this product was to have a professional (esthetician, doctor, etc. ) actually use it themselves and then recommend it to the users. Currently, employees of salons that carry the product purchase it at a 50% discount.
An esthetician has an enormous advantage when recommending a product to a customer, especially a product that was used in services the spa offers. When Genuine Collagen is used by the esthetician a testimonial can be given to the effects of proper usage and sold effectively.
The new approach was tested with an array of smaller customers in the first half of 2007. In the course the following few months, the approach was refined and adjusted to responses and feedback we received. The new strategy has produced over 500 potential locations and an impressive list of potential customers that are at final stages of approving Genuine Collagen for their sales. Most salon clients prior to June 2007 with single locations within the Chicago area were put on the consignment program during this period. Collagen has been able to wane clients off of the consignment program and into net 30 orders.
