IFTO started its operations under Iqbal Halal Foods name since 1984 with offices at two locations in the metropolitan Toronto. Since then it began to grow steadily and today there are three registered companies; Iqbal Halal Foods Inc. , IFTO Corporation and Iqbal Impex in the group. Recently, a similar line of running business in the name of Immense Inc & Transamerica Food Company Ltd. merged with IFTO, IFTO owns a restaurant as well. It has established a coast to coast food distribution network with seven trucks all over the province of Ontario, catering over 400 grocery & Convienient stores, numerous restaurants and banquet halls, Loblow & Its Subsideries like No Frill, Real Canadain Superstores almost 162 main stream chain stores are listed with IFTO to supply with IFTO's quality products, IFTO also bid for Canadian government Tenders for supply to Defence ministry & other local Public works Departments, IFTO line of products include Spices, Pulse, Lentils, Sugar, Rice, Dairy Products, Juices, Beverages & Fresh Halal Meat is main attraction, Indian & local origin Produce and other grocery items.
The prime objective of running this business is to serve the community rather than making profits. Hence we keep our margin very low and our customer retention is very high.
Apart from around 300 listed local suppliers, IFTO import goods from the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East, Europe, America and further down from Far East.
Currently, IFTO & Group has over 100 employees and anticipate a turnover for the year 2006 to be in excess of $29 million.
FTO is also registered in the registry of Blue Books, ECC Net Registry (for own Unicque International Barcode Prefix) , Federal Goverments Tendering system, IFTO is a member of D & B [Dun & Bradstreed] of Canada, a prominent business appraisal and credit rating company who has rated IFTO high above the industry standard.
