SMITH CORONA CORPORATION

Home > United States (70328) > Ohio (1685) > Cleveland (190)
Smith Corona, founded in 1886, became the world's leading manufacturer of typewriter and other office products. Smith Corona has recently repositioned itself as the lowest cost manufacturer of pressure-sensitive labels and thermal transfer ribbons. Smith Corona has invested in state of the art coating, slitting and die-cutting equipment allowing it to manufacture labels rather than simply act as a middle man converter. Because of its size and financial condition, Smith Corona is able to purchase raw materials at the best possible prices and is therefore able to pass on these efficiencies in manufacturing and purchasing to its customers.

Smith Corona at all times maintains an inventory of between 2,000 to 3,000 jumbo rolls of raw papers. Unlike most of our competition which must make labels to fulfill incoming orders, Smith Corona stocks 120 label and over 30 ribbon sizes in inventory ready to ship the same day an order is placed. Products include direct thermal and thermal transfer labels and thermal transfer ribbons.

Smith Corona labels are available in white and 12 different solid colors in rolled format, with 3 inch, 1 inch and .75 inch cores, or in fan-folded stacks. Smith Corona labels are designed for both application by hand and auto-apply. Smith Corona can provide labels in standard lengths (for example 1,000/roll for a 4x6 labe6l) or in XL lengths of (such as 2,400 labels/roll).

Smith Corona label business strives to conform to the best environmental practices in its own manufacturing operations and works with primary raw material vendors with similar philosophies. Smith Corona utilizes completely recyclable direct thermal papers that have been recognized for low emissions during their manufacture. Smith Corona uses water-based adhesives and hot-melt glues that can be disposed of without causing harm to micro ecosystems and which meet re-pulp-ability requirements set by the Forest Products Lab. Smith Corona has adopted a variety of initiatives that have resulted in reductions of energy consumption of between 10 to 15%.
