The Behn Meyer group dates back to 1840 when two young man from Hamburg, Theodor August Behn and Valentin Lorenz Meyer, established Behn Meyer & Co. In Singapore. In 1857, the younger brother of Valentin Lorenz Meyer founded Arnold Otto Meyer (AOM) in Hamburg.
Renamed BEHN MEYER (D) Holding AG & Co., it is now the holding company and principal shareholder of the Behn Meyer group of companies.
The main focus of the group today is on the supply and distribution of specialty products. The group represents renowned manufacturers from all over the world and has also diversified into production.
After servicing the Vietnamese market for decades from Hamburg and Singapore, a representative office of Behn Meyer & Co. (Pte) Ltd. Was established in Hochiminh City in 1993. Another office, set up in Hanoi in 1997, today represents Behn Meyer Chemical (S) Pte. Ltd.
The two companies market fertilizers, crop protection products, process machinery, and specialty chemicals for the food, beverage, personal care, leather, rubber, water treatment, paper production and animal nutrition/health care industries.
