Saigon Sundries Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company (Transaction name: TOCONTAP SAIGON JSC), which originally was a state-owned company under Ministry of Trade (currently Ministry of Industry and Trade), was established in 1956.
The company was privatised in April 2005 issued by Ministry of Trade (currently Ministry of Industry and Trade) on transforming Ho Chi Minh City Sundries Import Export Company into Saigon Sundries Import Export Joint Stock Company.
In implementing the Resolution dated 10 April 2009 of Annual General Shareholder Meeting in 2009, the company has been officially re-named Saigon Sundries Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company (Transaction name: TOCONTAP SAIGON JSC) since 01 June 2009.
b. Development process:
Being established in 1956 and one of 13 import export terminals of the nation at that time, the company specialized in importing and exporting indispensable goods such as home appliances, leather shoes, rubber products, clothes under protocols, etc and conducting barter agreements with countries in Eastern Europe.
In the period of 1989 to 1990, in the line with the open policy of the nation, the Company moved to general import and export, diversified its export goods including fine handicrafts articles, garments, agricultural products and seafood and widened its market to Asia, Europe, the United States of America, Canada, Australia etc. Furthermore, the Company also formed a chain of garment and Kimono factories underwritten by its partners.
In 2002, the Company engaged in industries of labor export, house and office trading, warehouse business and education assistance services. With its traditional market of Japan, the Company has accessed to the Middle East via provision of electrical and construction labors. It is currently carrying out negotiations and transaction with partners to export its labors to new markets such as Macau, Taiwan, Cyprus etc. It has intension of supplying high-qualified labors to well-earned markets such as the USA, Australia, Canada, etc.
The company always considers its prestige as the principle in all production and business activities, for such thing, all partners are satisfied with its relation, quality products and economic efficiency.
