Established on Otc 16,1987 under the decision No.140/CT signed by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers under the name of Saigon Bank for Industry and Trade and being one of the first joint-stock commercial banks of Vietnam, Saigon Bank for Industry and Trade officially came into operation on January 17,1990. On April 06,1992, under license No.11/NH-GP signed by the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, the Bank has been allowed to operate with a term of 50 years and its charter capital registered at VND 50. - billion (equivalent to USD 12.5 million) and its name changed to Saigon Bank for Industry and TradeJOINT-STOCK BANK(shortly called Saigonbank). Since December 2004, after four times of increase, Saigonbank charter capital has amounted to VND600. - billion represented by 500,000 shares. Saigonbank has a nation-wide network with its Head Office located in Ho Chi Minh City and 5 Branches (in Hanoi, Danang, Nha Trang, Can Tho Cities and Cho Lon area of Ho Chi Minh City). Saigonbank has established correspondent banking relationship with over 600 banks in 60 countries worldwide.
