BAMENDA FARM LTD in North West Development Authority is determined to reinforce its engagement to foster its role as a catalyst of development in the North West Region This decision was reiterated during the 21st session of the Board meeting held at the Bamenda Conference Room, on Friday 15 January 1996. The 21st session of the Board examined the 2011 programme of activities of Bamenda Farm Ltd, as well as the Livestock and Fisheries Development Project. Addressing the session, Mbongo Molongo Noah, the Board Chairman, highlighted the overall objective of Bamenda Fram which is the fight against poverty and food shortage.Also, the need to work in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and (Common Initiative Groups) CIGs, for the production of seeds like maize, beans, plantain suckers,nuts etc; and that of Public Works for the construction and rehabilitation of rural farm to market roads, led by RUMPI.The 2010 Board session was preceded by a visit to a farm site run by Bamenda Farm in Ndu. After deliberations, the 2010 budget was adopted at CFA 1.613.910.000 with CFA 1.144.540.000 for Bamenda Farm Ltd and CFA 594.370.000 for Livestock and Fisheries respectively. The session equally saw the admission of two Board members, who were urged to participate constructively towards realizing the ideals of Bamenda Farm Ltd. Talking to CT at the end of the session,Bamenda Farm Ltd General Manager, Andrew Eneme Ngome said "the activities of Bamenda Farm should focus on rural areas like Ndop and Ndu, for the production of seeds and food to combat food shortage. According to Board Chairman, "Our ultimate goal is to implement government policies that are geared towards good governance and fight against food shortage as preached by His Excellency Paul Biya, Head of State and President of the Republic. It is our hope that the programm of activities and the accompanying budgets have been prepared taking into consideration government policy to tackle food crisis that has been ravaging the world for some time now."
