MAM Trading Pvt.Ltd.Company was formed in March 2001 by three Ethiopian citizens, namely, Eng. Mussema Aman, Mr. Aman Hassen, and Mrs. Mamit Bekele. The company is engaged mainly in general import and export business activities.
At present the company is one of the major exporters of oil seeds and pulses in Ethiopia. The company export business has steadily grown from US Dollars 3,000,000 in year 2002, to over US Dollars 12,300,000 in year 2007. While making a continuous progress, the company is expected to earn about US Dollars 30.0 million from export of 25, 000mts of oil seeds (mainly sesame seeds) by the end of 2008/2009 budget year using its doubled processing capacity. In recognition of its active role in the export sector, the company was awarded for five consecutive budget years in the sub-sector of oil seeds exporter. In addition to this in October 24, 2008 the Company has been awarded with a trophy in recognition of its International Quality Management System and its reputation in customer satisfaction services in London.
Organizational and Management
At present, the overall company management comes directly under the responsibility of the Managing Director of MAM Trading Pvt.Ltd.Company. The incumbent Managing Director of the company, Eng. Mussema Aman, closely assisted by the company general manager, looks after the overall management of the project. Eng. Mussema, who holds an MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from Germany, has also many years of management experience, both working as a civil servant in his professional capacity as well as managing his own private businesses.
MAM TRADING owns a strategically important location for its export activity in Addis Ababa. It is found on the main road running to Djibouti and at the same time opposite to customs authority. MAM Trading export processing facility is state of the art first class machinery from EU, which has a capacity of processing 150MTS in 24 hours. It is equipped with semi automatic weighing facility and ample dust exhaust system to achieve clean and neat exportable cargo.
Additionally, the company has organized the same export processing facility in Humera town in the major Sesame Seeds growing area. This new facility increases the export capacity of the company over 5000MTS/Month. As such capacities are not common with most of exporters in Ethiopia, definitely this capacity indicates, that MAM TRADING is one of the top performing companies in the oil seeds export sector in Ethiopia.
