Organic tea cultivation:
Growing tea naturally is growing tea organically. Our tea gardens today are all organic.

Need for organic agriculture:

Exploiting nature is fraught with danger. Nature backlash can be frightening: changing weather patterns, shifting rivers, soil erosion, landslides and earthquakes. Yet man continues to invite these natural disasters with reckless deforestation, unwise use of chemical fertilizer and pesticides, and irresponsible agro practices.

Nature is not a limitless resource. It is best her riches are harnessed patiently. Worldwide, today, there is a return to traditional, organic ways. Agriculture is being seen again as a means to develop a sustainable eco system. A system that satisfies legitimate short-term needs within the long-term rules of nature.

Fertilization & Weed management:
We consider soil living. Soil health, in our gardens, is maintained by
applying compost
planting leguminous grasses
using earthworms in vermiculture
developing beneficial fungi, bacteria and viruses as micro-organisms
that multiply rapidly and outnumber disease causing organisms in the
soil
manually sickling weeds, restricting their growth, and using the
shredded weeds as mulch
These operations provide vital nutrients, develop good humus, avoid soil exhaustion, and maintain the soil well-aerated, physical structure.

Pest Control:
We control tea garden pests naturally. Various methods are used
disinfecting tea bushes with neem sprays
spraying plants with herbal solutions that have strains of specially
bred bacteria which check the breeding cycle of harmful pests
re-establishing natural cycles, by actively promoting bio-diversity
within the garden, and growing various species of grasses, shrubs,
plants and flowers.
the garden soon becomes home to a variety of insects, birds, bees and animals, and abounds with nests, cobwebs and rabbit holes- thus attracting predators like ladybirds, dragonflies, spiders and frogs that naturally feed on garden pests.

These are painless, environment friendly ways to free gardens of harmful pests.
