Sami Labs Limited was set up in the year 1991, by Dr. Muhammed Majeed a Ph.D in Industrial Pharmacy. After a decade of working with the biggest names in the American pharmaceutical industry, Dr.Majeed first set up Sabinsa Corporation in New Jersey in 1988. And later, Sami Labs Limited in Bangalore, India with the vision of research, development and marketing of a new genre of products - natural therapeutics.
Over the past two decades, the organisation has grown into a health science multinational with presence in USA, Europe, Japan, Australia, UAE, China and Malayia. It employs over a 1000 people, with seven manufacturing locations in India and one in USA. Its research facility in Bangalore, India have over a hundred people involved in specialized work in the areas of phytochemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, tissue culture and plant biotechnology.
Today, Sami holds a strong intellectual property portfolio with several American and international patents to its credit apart from awards and recognitions worldwide.
A market leader in standardized herbal extracts, nutritional ingredients, cosmeceuticals, probiotics, fine chemicals, speciality and finished solid oral dosage forms and cosmetic formulations, its new thrust areas include development of new drug molecules of plant origin for various therapeutic segments.
