COMPANY BACKGROUND
Intercompo Sdn Bhd (Intercompo) was incorporated in January 2001 with a primary
Objective to provide downstream value-added services relating to wood-based panels
Namely cutting-to-size, shaping (with CNC machining) , edge-banding, multi-boring
Etc leading to the manufacturing of finished or semi-finished furniture components such
As table tops, shelves, printing stand, pedestal, cabinet, and thread-mill boards etc.
The factory is located about 55 km south of Kuala Lumpur near a small village called
Olak Lempit. The distance from KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) to the
Factory is less than 20 km and the distance to Port Kelang is less than 50 km.
Since its incorporation, Intercompo had invested in several modern precision wood
Processing machines including one unit of ' Holzma ' (Germany) panel sizing saw c / w
Rear lifting table, one unit of ' Brandt ' (Germany) single-side automatic edge-banding
Machine and one unit of ' Morbidelli ' (Italy) multi-boring machine. One unit of brand
New ' Biesse ' CNC woodworking machine from Italy was commissioned in August 2003.
A manual edge-banding machine from IMA, Germany was commissioned in May 2004
And another multi-boring machine ' Biesse ' (Italy) was commissioned in August 2004.
In March 2006, another new CNC ' Weeke ' (Germany) woodworking machine was
Commissioned to manufacture larger table tops. In June 2007, one unit of re-conditioned
Double side edge-banding machine (make: Homag, Germany) was commissioned to
Step up the daily output of furniture components. Total investment on machinery todate
Is more than RM 2. 0 million.
The total workforce is 30 persons including 12 foreign workers. Currently,
The factory is operating 6 days a week.
Besides producing OEM table tops and other furniture components on project basis,
Intercompo has also successfully qualified as the Preferred Vendor for table tops to
Foreign-owned companies based in Malaysia who then export their furniture to their home
And regional countries. These companies include Uchida, Kokuyo, Steelcase.
