The first 3G UMTS video call was done between the Communications and Information Technology Minister, Szolt Nagy and the President of Romania, Traian Basescu, on April 15,2005, during the 3G launch press conference.
At the launching time, the 3G network is available in eight cities: Bucharest, Cluj, Timisoara, Brasov, Iasi, Constanta, Craiova, Ploiesti, and on the main highway from Bucharest to Brasov (DN1).
