China Prototypes was founded in New York in 1982. Since our launch, our reputation has been built on our ability to design first-class products for our clients. When a client sees one of our designs, the inevitable first question is Can you produce it for us? The design-to-production service quickly became our niche in the world market.
As an American business, we realized the importance of having an on-the-ground presence in China to oversee the process of bringing new products from concept to reality. Manufacturers in Asia often use different types of machines than American manufacturers. Their work habits sometimes differ as well. This can be beneficial. The production process in Asia is often flexible, and most factories can begin a project within a few days. If there is a scheduling delay, Asian workers will work seven days a week to keep a project moving forward. However, one of the drawbacks is that the staff may not be as skilled as those in more developed countries. Because of this, close supervision is critical. This kind of close supervision is not possible when a manufacturer is located in a different time zone, thousands of miles away. It simple does not work.
